Delete your Jood account
Effective date: 5 October 2026
How to delete your account in the Jood — جود app, how to ask for it by email if you cannot open the app, and exactly what is erased, what is deleted with it, and the only things that stay.
Delete it in the app
- Open Jood — جود and go to Profile.
- Tap Delete account.
- Enter your password to confirm.
Deleting in the app takes effect immediately.
Or ask for it by email
If you cannot open the app, email us and include the phone number registered on the account. Before deleting anything, we confirm the request with the owner of that number, by call, SMS or WhatsApp. We never delete an account on an email alone. Once confirmed, email requests are processed within 30 days.
Send it to support@getjood.app
Include the phone number registered on your account. We confirm the request with the owner of that number before deleting anything, and never delete on an email alone.
Erased immediately
- Your name and your business name
- Your phone number
- Your password and any deactivation note
- Every signed-in session, on every device
The account can never sign in again and nothing can write to it again. Its phone number is free: the same number can register a brand-new, empty account.
Deleted with it
- Your personal vendors and the private expenses recorded against them, including every attached receipt photo. The photos are removed from file storage too, and the removal is retried automatically if storage is briefly unavailable.
- Your notifications, and other people's notifications about you, such as a connection request or acceptance that names you.
- Your subscription and any pending upgrade request.
- Every staff invite ever sent to your phone number.
- Every connection. A deleted customer drops out of a store's customer list, while their invoices and balances stay in that store's invoice lists, reports and stats.
All of this is removed from the live service immediately. Copies held in our backups age out within 35 days.
What is kept, and only this
Jood is a shared record, and an invoice is as much the store's record as the customer's. So two things stay:
- Invoices with a store, and the payments on them, including any payment-proof images attached to them. They are never changed in any amount, line or payment record. Your name stays as it appeared on them and is marked “Deleted account”. Payments you recorded, as a customer reporting one or as staff at a store, stay on the record with the same mark.
- The platform's audit events of what you did, kept as a security record with phone numbers and IP addresses removed, so each event carries only an anonymous ID.
Nothing else about you stays.
Invoices still waiting for an answer
A pending invoice that can no longer be answered is closed automatically. If a customer deletes their account, every pending invoice to or from them is closed. If a store is closed, every pending invoice of that store is closed.
A closed invoice is marked rejected with the system's reason, such as “Closed automatically: the customer deleted their account” or “Closed automatically: the store was closed”. It is never shown as something either person said, and the other party is notified as they would be for any rejection.
If you own a store, or work at one
Every store you own is permanently closed. Its staff lose access, its pending staff invites are cancelled, its connections end, and its phone number is freed so the business can register again.
The store's name stays on the invoices it issued. Its customers can still open them, marked “Closed store”, but nothing new can happen on them: no accepting, rejecting or reporting a payment, and no reminders are sent.
If you were only staff at a store, you simply stop being a member and the store carries on.
