Privacy policy

Effective date: 5 October 2026

This policy explains what the Jood — جود app and the getjood.app website collect, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. “Jood”, “we” and “us” mean the team that runs Jood. Jood records invoices and payments between stores and their customers; it never moves money.

What we collect

We collect what you give us when you create and use an account:

  • Account details: your name, phone number, account type (merchant or customer), preferred language, and your password, which we keep only in hashed form.
  • Store details, if you are a merchant: your store's name (required for merchants) and the people who work in it.
  • Records you create: invoices and their line items, payments you record, notes, and the payment-proof images you upload.
  • Connections between stores and customers: connection requests and accepted connections.
  • Notifications shown to you inside the app.

We do not collect payment card or bank account details, because Jood records money and never moves it. There are no ads in Jood, no analytics or tracking tools in the app, and we do not sell your data.

How we use it

Only to run the service: signing you in, creating, sending and accepting invoices, showing balances and payments, sending in-app notifications and due-date reminders, keeping accounts secure, and answering support requests. We never use your information for advertising.

Who can see it

  • The other side of an invoice. An invoice is a shared record between a store and its customer, so both see its lines, total, payments, any payment-proof images attached to it, and your name as it appears on it.
  • Nobody can browse for you. Another person can find your account only by typing your exact phone number.
  • Your store's team. A store's owner and staff see the store's records.
  • Private records. What a customer writes down about a shop that is not on Jood is visible to nobody but that customer.
  • The Jood team. A small number of people who operate the service can view records when that is needed to run it or to look into a support or dispute case; their administrative actions are logged.
  • Our infrastructure providers, who process data on our behalf: DigitalOcean (application servers) and Cloudflare (file storage).

We do not share your information with anyone else, unless the law requires it.

Where your data is stored

Our application servers run on DigitalOcean in Frankfurt (EU). Files you upload, including payment-proof images, are stored on Cloudflare R2. Everything between the app and our servers travels over HTTPS. Because Jood serves people in several countries, your data is processed in the European Union.

How long we keep it, and deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your account is erased and your account data is removed from the live service immediately, as set out on the delete your account page: your sign-in, name, phone number, private records, notifications, connections and subscription are gone. Only two things stay. Invoices with a store, and the payments on them (with any payment-proof images attached), are never changed because they are the other party's business records; your name stays on them as it appeared, marked “Deleted account”. And the platform's security audit events stay with phone numbers and IP addresses removed. Copies held in our backups age out within 35 days.

Your choices

You can view and update your profile in the app and delete your account at any time. If you ask us to delete your account by email, we first confirm the request with the owner of the registered phone number, by call, SMS or WhatsApp. We never delete an account on an email alone. For any other request about your data, such as a copy or a correction, write to us at the address below.

Children

Jood is built for merchants and their customers. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data.

This website

getjood.app does not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and does not ask you for personal information. Like any web server, the servers that deliver it may keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP address and requested page, for security and reliability.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
